The glasses are in good working condition and the optics adjust by turning a ridged cylinder encased within the handle. The telescoping opera glasses are covered with iridescent mother-of-pearl panels and each eyepiece is topped with a MOP disk one reads LEMAIRE FT PARIS with two representations of LeMaire's bumble bee logo, the other is marked "HENRY KAHN & CO / San Francisco." The gilt metal frame is ornamented with four beaded bands and stamped Made in France with two patent numbers dated Nov.28.82 and May.7.95 on the bridge, marked LEMAIRE PARIS / TRADEMARK at the end of the handle, and monogrammed with ornate CWG initials on the frame. The small binoculars date to the late 19th century and were crafted at the height of the Belle Époque in gilt metal and mother of pearl by Lemaire of Paris.
